May 31,
2009 -
1 week We are all just about too cute for words! At first glance we all look the
same! (Of course, it’s easy to pick out Charlie) So for now we are wearing
different colored bands for easy spotting. It’s important to keep track of
who is who to make sure we are all gaining weight properly. We are all
gaining beautifully. |

June 7, 2009 - 2
weeks We have all opened our eyes.
And us girls have outgrown our color bands. Even though we may all look alike
to you, Angela can spot little differences to tell us apart. We are all
growing well and we are all starting to walk! It’s a little wobbly but soon
we’ll all be pros! |

June 14, 2009 - 3
weeks The pups have really
starting moving about and have even begun to play with each other a bit.
Their little growls and yips are adorable, and their little personalities are
beginning to emerge! |

June 21, 2009 - 4
weeks The pups are playing and
rolling around with each other even more now! They wrestle and tumble a
little and are beginning to be very playful with us too. They like to jump on
tug-ropes when we wiggle them on the floor in front of them and they try to
get it. They are becoming more snuggly. They love when we hold them close in
our arms belly-up and rock them (just like a baby!) and sometimes even fall
to sleep. They have begun to nibble at soft food and seem to enjoy it. New
things are scary for puppies so sometimes they act shy when trying something
new, but they are all very curious and willing to try. |

June 28, 2009 - 5
weeks Today the pups got to run
around in the laundry room while I “remodeled” their pen. They ran all over
wagging there tails, sniffing, exploring, yipping, scrambling all over the
floor. Everything was interesting, including my shoes, which they tugged at my
laces and untied! They ran in and out of the other dog kennels and a couple
even laid down for a comfy little nap. Today they had their first experience
drinking out of a water bowl. Sometimes they lapped it up, sometimes they
dipped their little paws into it. It is so cute to watch them figure out new
things. The “remodeling” I did was
to add a covered crate so they can get used to the enclosed space. I also
made their pen slightly larger so they have more room to play and romp. They
are starting to use the potty pad more and more. We have large thin slats of
cardboard lining the rest of the pen to soak up the misses, but by next week
they should start getting even better at trying to find the potty mat. Next week is a big week for
the pups. They will get their first shots, which is good news because that
means they will get to go outside! I will capture the moment on video and
place a link for you see. If you think they are adorable now... Just wait ‘til
you see them playing in the grass! WE ARE REALLY ENJOYING THESE LITTLE
SWEETIES! |

July 6, 2009 - 6
weeks Finally the pups got to go
outside! But first they had to get their shots, and I am happy to report they
all did great! (Nothing like a nice tasty glob of peanut butter for a
distraction!) Now that they are on their way to being immunized it is safe
for them to explore the world outside. First, it was off to the
enclosed pen where they got to sniff and run and play and roll in the fresh
grass. At first they were unsure (as pups always are trying something new)
but in no time they were peeking in and out of bushes and climbing in and out
of the dog house. Then it was off to the BIG
yard to run with the BIG dogs! What fun they had. And fun to watch, too. I invite you to see for
yourself. Click the link to see a clip of the pups playing outside

July 12, 2009 - 7
weeks What a week it’s been! The pups have done so many new things. And
they seem to have grown overnight. They are running and playing with the big
girls now, chasing balls and butterflies, and our heels! They are really
enjoying the outdoors. They also got to lounge on
the deck under the big shade umbrella for the first time. It’s a fun place to
be while everyone is relaxing. Now the biggee... Today was
the pups first time to spend time in a crate all their own. They ate a meal
in them and took a nap, and all did pretty well. At night it was time to try
to “go to bed” in their crates. We’ll just say some had a bit of a harder
time than others, but that’s to be expected. It’s hard for them to be
separated from each other, but by taking it step-by-step just a little longer
each night, before they know it they’ll be quite comfy and content. Last but not least... we
took the pups on their first trial walks, too! Very short, just in the
driveway, but they all got the hang of it, and it was adorable! We took some
video and hope you’ll enjoy their antics on leash!
